CAD Collaboration with Glovius – Video

We talked about CAD collaboration using Glovius in our earlier posts. Many Glovius are using this functionality to reviews their designs, showcase and share them. The main advantages of using this underlying Glovius cloud service is

  1. Multi platform access – Support on Windows, iOS, Android and Web
  2. Access designs – View, Analyze, and Generate reports
  3. Collaborate – Share URL’s and 3D design data instead of working on images or using FTP’s

Watch this video for an overview, register for an account and start using the Glovius cloud service for collaboration.

CAD Collaboration with Glovius

We recently announced our CAD collaboration initiative – Glovius Cloud. Now, with the latest product update to Glovius desktop app, you can add and view comments directly in the app. This enables a true multi platform CAD collaboration solution for Glovius users.

During the design cycle various teams are involved in bringing the design from concept to life. This involves collaboration between different teams – Designers, Manufacturing Engineers, QC Engineers, Program Managers, Cost Estimators, Should Costing Teams and many more. Usually, the collaboration across these teams happens with a wide and variety of tools and disparate systems – drawings, image snapshots, derivative reports or sometimes even by email. This leads to severe lack of trace-ability, loss of information and repetition. Glovius CAD collaboration is designed to be a multi platform tool that serves as the basis for all discussions on 3D parts and assemblies.

Glovius Cloud is a web based  tool built on multiple platforms for contextual collaboration. Use the Glovius desktop, Mobile apps or the Web app to View and add comments. Converse with your designers, engineers and everyone else with the 3D design file as the source of truth. This ensure you spend less time on email and more time designing and manufacturing great products.

You can extend this collaboration tool to your suppliers and manufacturers. As the conversations are file based, you can share a specific file in the project to such external stakeholders with a single click.

Finally using our web and mobile apps, the entire team will always have access to the 3D part and assemblies. You can take simple measurements, take sections and download reports.

Introducing Glovius Cloud

We are please to introduce Glovius Cloud – a new way to share your CAD parts and assemblies with your colleagues and suppliers.

Access your 3D parts and assemblies on Windows, Mobile and Web

As we see increasing adoption of cloud and mobile technologies, the inevitable spillover of work and the need to access your design data on such devices is becoming one of the top priorities to organizations of every size. Glovius Cloud is built up our time tested mobile and web technologies that we’d piloted and deployed in enterprises to address various use cases of Visualizing 3D data on such devices.

Glovius Cloud is built to address the following use cases :

  1. View your CAD parts and assemblies on any device using native mobile apps for iOS and Android and Web apps for modern browsers.
  2. Share URL’s instead of emailing 3D parts and assemblies
  3. Add review comments and get feedback from your colleagues/suppliers who don’t have access to the CAD application or Glovius Windows Viewer.

All Glovius customers with valid USP and subscription will receive a CloudPass to the mobile and web app for free ( lookout for the mail about creating an account for cloud.glovius.com ). We will also be launching a Glovius Cloud plan exclusively for those users who need access to 3D data on their phones or browsers only.

Register for Glovius Cloud and with a single click start pushing your files to the mobile and web apps.
